Pokémon Marks 30 Years With First All-Foil Expansion

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), The Pokémon Company has announced ‘30th Celebration’, a special anniversary expansion launching worldwide on 16 September 2026. For the first time in the franchise's history, every card in the set will feature a foil finish.

The anniversary collection includes 30 new Pikachu illustrations, the return of classic cards such as Base Set Charizard, Mew and Mewtwo ex, and a new Futuristic Rare category featuring artwork by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. Each booster pack contains five foil cards and one foil basic Energy card.

The all-foil release reflects the growing use of premium print finishes across the trading card market, where foil treatments have evolved from rare collector features into a core element of product design.
